Pathways to Progress
Your BCBA: The Architect of Growth
Think of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) as your family’s clinical guide and advocate. While our technicians provide the daily, hands-on 1:1 support, the BCBA is the "big picture" expert who ensures every minute of therapy is purposeful, effective, and—most importantly—kind.
What Does a BCBA Actually Do?
-
Creating the Roadmap: Every child is unique. Your BCBA conducts initial assessments to understand your child’s strengths and needs, then builds a "Treatment Plan" specifically designed for your family’s goals.
-
Guiding the Team: The BCBA provides constant supervision and training to the technicians working with your child, ensuring that the strategies being used are consistent and high-quality.
-
Data-Driven Progress: We don't just guess if things are working. We track progress through data so we can celebrate the wins and pivot our strategies quickly if your child hits a roadblock.
-
Empowering Parents: You are the expert on your child. A BCBA works directly with you through Parent Collaboration, teaching you the same tools we use so that progress continues long after our session ends.
Why It Matters
A BCBA’s goal isn’t just to "change behavior"—it’s to improve your child’s quality of life. Whether it’s helping them communicate their needs, make friends, or gain independence in daily routines, your BCBA is there to ensure the journey is trauma-informed and centered on your child’s happiness.

Your Direct Services team will meet with you and your child each session to implement treatment. It is important to us that your team build relationships with your child to help them be successful!
Your Behavior Technician: The Heart of Every Session
If the BCBA is the architect of the plan, the Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is the builder. They are the dedicated professionals who work one-on-one with your child during every session, turning therapy goals into fun, achievable milestones.
What Does a Behavior Technician Do?
-
1:1 Direct Support: Your technician is by your child’s side, providing focused attention to help them learn new skills in real-time.
-
Bringing the Plan to Life: They implement the specific strategies designed by the BCBA—whether that’s practicing communication, building social skills, or working on daily routines like getting dressed or brushing teeth.
-
Play-Based Learning: We believe children learn best when they are engaged. Our technicians use your child’s favorite toys, games, and interests to make learning feel like play.
-
Real-Time Progress Tracking: During every session, the technician collects data on how your child is doing. This ensures the BCBA has the most up-to-date information to guide your child’s care.
Why They Are Vital?
Our technicians are more than just "implementers"—they are mentors and cheerleaders. Because they spend the most face-to-face time with your child, they build a deep bond of trust and safety. This relationship is the foundation that allows your child to feel confident enough to try new things and reach their full potential.
